I grew up in the village of Selkirk in upstate New York, just south of Albany. I started drawing and painting relatively late in life when I was in high school. After receiving a Bachelor of Fine Art degree in Studio Art at Ithaca College and a Master of Fine Art degree in Painting at the Savannah College of Art and Design, I moved back up to the northeast. I currently reside in Wilton, Connecticut with my husband Adam, my son Griffin, my daughters Lainey and Calleigh and my dog Whoodle. I have exhibited extensively in the northeast and in Savannah and Atlanta, Georgia. I have had several solo exhibitions with my work finding its way into many private collections from Georgia to Maine to Arizona. I have also been commissioned to paint multiple paintings. My work has been featured in many area publications, including a feature article in New Canaan/Darien Magazine in February 2007. Inspired by the landscape and the intricacies of natural objects, my abstracts can be both vast and careful observations of magnified views. Although the majority of my paintings are abstract, I continually return to painting more representational landscapes to refuel my color and mark making vocabulary. There is a constant connection to the world I am seeing around me. |
